Mr. Joseph D. Romero, 89, of Plantation, Florida, died Friday, February 2, 2007. He was a longtime resident of Biloxi and of the Catholic faith. Mr. Romero was president of the Herman Walker Tomato Packing Plant in Homestead, FL and employed with the U. S. Postal Service while living in Biloxi. He was a WW II veteran. During his retirement years he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and playing poker at the Grand Casino.
Mr. Romero was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Romero; son, Rockwell Romero, and six brothers and sisters. He is survived by his grandson, Rod Romero and his wife, Teresa, and two great grandsons, Ryan Romero and Randolph Romero.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, Biloxi, is in charge of arrangements.
