Joseph Leroy Dobrowski, Sr. passed away on December 27, 2020 in Pascagoula, MS.
Joseph was born on September 15, 1941, in S. Kingston, RI. He was a veteran after serving in the Air Force. He worked and retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Ocean Springs for many years, and a proud member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Pascagoula.
He was preceded in death by his father Chester Dobrowski, Sr., his mother Reba Charnley Hopkins, and his step-father Donald Hopkins.
He is survived by his five children, Linda (Ron) Holtorf from Ocean Springs, MS, Donna Gorline from Brandon, MS, Joe Dobrowski, Jr. from Mobile, AL, Steven Dobrowski from Gulfport, MS, and Ricky Dobrowski from Lucedale, MS, as well as his four grandchildren, Tina Dellinger from Ocean Springs, MS, Ronnie Holtorf from Big Point, MS, Kelly Holtorf from Mobile, AL, Karl Gorline from Atlanta, GA, and three great-grandchildren, Tristen Kaltenbaugh, Ian Dellinger, and Cedric Dixon. He is also survived by his brother, Chester Dobrowski, Jr. from Escatatwpa, MS, his nephew Tad Dobrowski and his family, and other family members.
A private graveside service will be held at Crestlawn Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Singing River Hospital for the care he received. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Joseph’s name to St. John’s Episcopal Church in Pascagoula, MS, or a favorite charity.
