Joseph Frank Wozniek, 52, of Saucier, MS went to be with our Lord on Monday, April 19, 2010. Joseph was born on February, 25, 1958, in Kenmore, NY. He had a long and dedicated military career. He served four years in the United States Marine Corps as an Aircraft Weapons Systems Technician achieving the rank of Sergeant and was stationed at Naval Support Activity Mid-South, Millington, TN; Marine Corps Air Station, Yuma, AZ, and Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, NC. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserve, serving 29 years at Keesler AFB, MS as an Electronic Warfare Systems Technician where he attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He was recognized with numerous military commendations including USMC Meritorious Mast, USMC Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal. Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Frank J. Wozniek; and by his first wife, Janet Heath Wozniek of Saucier. Joseph was a loving father, son, brother and uncle. He is survived by his son, Hank Thomas Wozniek of Biloxi; daughters Holly Rochelle Wozniek of Birmingham, AL; and Sunny Joy Wozniek of Biloxi; mother, Stephanie M. Wozniek of Grand Island NY; sisters, Jeanne Remmes (Carl) of Grand Island NY; and Susan Scott (Bruce) of Saucier and many nieces and nephews. The family gives special recognition to Dr. Lydia F. Latour and Ms. Susan E. Wozniek of Coast Oncology / Hematology Clinic who cared for Joseph during his illness. Visitation will be Thursday, April 22, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on E. Taylor Rd., Gulfport, MS. Interment with full military honors will be Friday, April 23, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. at the Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507 in honor of Master Sergeant Joseph F. Wozniek.
