Joseph Juan Hebert, 83, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on April 22, 2025, in Biloxi, Mississippi. Juan was born on October 25,1941 in Biloxi, Mississippi to Rena Tauzin Atchley and Willis “Doc’ Hebert.
He graduated from Biloxi High School where he started the Men’s Golf Program in 1960. Juan attended college at University of Southern Mississippi where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He then proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.
A lifelong Biloxi Resident, he was a barber in his early years. He then was an owner Marina Point/ Gorenflo’s Tackle Shop in Point Cadet in Biloxi and the owner of Alatapatatas, on the Destin Harbor. He and his wife Angela also managed Pelican Cay Condos for many years where they made life-long friends.
Juan was known for his friendly, dependable, and fun personality. An avid outdoorsman, Juan enjoyed fishing and boating. Juan loved all Sports. For years he was his son Jordan’s biggest fan and traveled the state with him while playing high school championship soccer. Juan was a fervent fan all things LSU sports, including LSU football and especially baseball. You would find him on any given game day in head-to-toe LSU garb. Some of his favorite memories included watching his daughter graduate from LSU in 2009 and going to the LSU Men’s Baseball National Championship with his good friend Darrell in Omaha in 2023.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Angela DeGregorio Hebert; sisters, Walterine Hebert Cox and Marie Hebert LeBlanc; daughter, Heather Hebert, and her partner, Kenneth Joseph DeHanes, Jr.; and by his son, Jordan Hebert, and his wife, Rebecca Defreitas Hebert. His golden years were blessed with his greatest joy, his granddaughter, Vivian Rose Hebert.
He will be remembered warmly by all who knew him.
A Memorial Mass to honor and remember Juan will be held at Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior.
