Joseph T. “Sam” Miller, Sr., 88, of D’Iberville, MS, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in Biloxi.
Sam was born in Gulfport, MS and he was a longtime resident of Biloxi and D’Iberville. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Sam was a retired fisherman and carpenter and he reigned as Shrimp King in 1996.
He is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Edna Shirley Mallett Miller.
Survivors include his daughters, Sandra Ann (Romand) Enriquez of Vancleave and Rose Lee Miller and Rebacca Kay (Doug) Champion, both of D’Iberville; his sons, Joseph T. “Grand Giz” (Sandy) Miller, Jr. and James Alex (Betsy) Miller, both of D’Iberville; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013, all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
