Joseph Reid Belton

Joseph Reid Belton, 69, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Monday, September 12, 2011. Reid was born on October 18, 1941. He lived his entire life in Ocean Springs except for his tour of duty with the Navy. He loved visiting with his friends at the Waffle House and walking around Ocean Springs checking on the many changes taking place. Reid was preceded in death by his mother and father, Helen and Joe Belton; his grandmother, Elizabeth Struchen; and his aunt, Ruth Mullin. Survivors include his brother, William C. McDaniels; cousins, Trixie Urie, Clyde (Stella) Beckham and Helen (Stu) Almekinder; and his many friends at the Waffle House. At Reid's request, no services will be held. The family requests that memorials be given to the Hospice of Light, 2012 Hwy. 90 #29, Gautier, MS 39533 or the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe is in charge.
