Joseph “Rickey” Waldrop, 74, of Biloxi, MS passed on from this life early Monday morning, October 7, 2024 without fanfare.
Rickey was a true East Biloxi native, born on November 23, 1949 to Chester T. and Enarise Waldrop. He loved the Point and lived and worked there most of his days. A good hard worker and salt of the earth, he worked with his (surrogate) father after his dad passed. Rickey and his father would be two and three floors up on the outside of a building and feel the 12” walk board shake and Rickey would be right beside his father to give a hand. He loved auto racing and deer hunting. Rickey will be missed by friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Margie Lynn Waldrop; and his siblings, Mark R. Waldrop, Rhonda Kim Waldrop, Margie Bell Waldrop and Rocky Waldrop.
Rickey’s survivors include his wife, Lanola Waldrop; his daughter, Marsha Lee (Robert) McGrew; his grandchildren, Corey Havelin, Nathan Cameron, Joshua Pittman and William Mallett and Layla Mallett; his great-grandchildren, Scarlett Pittman and Kohen Pittman; and his sister, Vickey Sue Wagner.
A Graveside Service will be held at Biloxi City Cemetery on the south side at 10:30 am on Thursday, October 10, 2024. Friends may visit at the cemetery from 9:30 am until service time.
