Joseph Padgett Rogers

Joseph P. Rogers, age 88, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 in Ocean Springs. Mr. Rogers was raised in Fairfax, Allendale, and Charleston, all in South Carolina. He has been a resident of the Gulf Coast since 1970. He was an Air Force Veteran and lived most of his life in California and Mississippi. Joseph worked for North American Aviation in California and then retired from Litton Data Systems in Pascagoula. Joe is preceded in death by his father, Stephen C. Rogers, Sr.; mother, Lottie Ozelle Singletary Rogers; stepmother, Sara Cone Rogers; partner, Leo Colista; sisters, Marjory Rogers Conners, of Savannah, GA and Maryanne Rogers Johnson of Charleston, SC; and his brothers, Stephen C. Rogers, Jr., of Atlanta, GA, Julius D. Rogers, of Charleston, GA, George H. Rogers, of Nashville, TN, and Virgil M. Rogers, of Jacksonville, FL. Survivors include his brother, Robert W. Rogers, of Winter Park, FL; brother-in-law, Carl (Linda) Colista; and his longtime friend, Antonio "Tony" Herbert. Services will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with a 3:00 p.m. memorial service, all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home.
