Joseph Souza

Mr. Joseph Souza, age 76, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, in Gulfport, MS. Mr. Souza was born on July 29, 1941 in Fall River, MA. He served in the US Air Force from 1960-1985. He was stationed in Texas, England, Pentagon and KAFB, where he retired as a First Sergeant of a student squadron. Mr. Souza taught AFJROTC at Biloxi High School from 1985-1999 and taught AFJROTC at St. Martin High School from 2000-2008, returning for another year before retiring. He was Catholic, a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. Mr. Souza was preceded in death by his parents and a son. Survivors include his bride Marie, children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 25, from 5pm until 7pm at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Monday, March 26, there will be an 11am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
