Mrs. Josephine Roberts Lawrence, age 81, of Biloxi, MS., went to see her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, and was reunited with her loved ones, her husband of fifty seven years, Arnold Joseph Lawrence, Sr., two sons, Anthony Chris (Flitter) Lawrence and Alvin Keith Lawrence, grandson, Joseph Lawrence, parents, Charles and Louise Pinkeston Roberts, sister, Minnie Lee Pickens, and many other wonderful people who came into her life.
Mrs. Lawrence was born in Waco, TX. and was a lifelong resident of the coast. She went to Cosmetology School and worked many other jobs but her most fulfilling job was working with her husband in the seafood business. If Josephine was not working, she was busy being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother helping them through lifes' experiences, both sweet and bitter. She loved being part of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer with her family. She especially loved accompanying the youth group to Jamaica.
Survivors include a daughter, Anita (Larry) Seymour, two sons, Arnold Lawrence, Jr. and Art Wayne (Michelle) Lawrence, devoted brother-in-law, Edward Frank Lawrence, niece, Gloria (George) Anglada, fourteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, other family members and friends.
Josephine will be greatly missed by her family and friends but we know she is in Heaven now still watching over us.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 30, 2010, from 9 am until 10 am, with a 10 am church service, all at the Church of the Redeemer. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
