Josephine Tedesco Taranto Schneider

Mrs. D. Josephine Tedesco Taranto Schneider, 87, of Ocean Springs, MS passed from this life on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at home. Mrs. Schneider was a native of Biloxi, born September 5, 1922. She lived many years in New York until she moved back to the coast in 1976. Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, John Dominic Taranto and Sarah Esposito Taranto. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Edwin J. Schneider; her son in-law, Fred Jansky; her daughter in-law, Karla Schneider. Also 5 brothers, Julius, John (Jake), Joseph, Anthony (Coty) Taranto, and Joseph Tedesco, and 3 sisters, Rose Beaugez, Rosalie Tedesco and Frances Tedesco Hunt. She is survived by her children, Janet Jansky, Edwin J Schneider, Joseph E Schneider and wife, Marie Schneider. Her Surviving grandchildren include, Susan Aliff and husband Bert, Freddy Jansky, Christopher Jansky and wife Tracey, Katie Schneider and Eddie “Dugga” Schneider. Also included are 7 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at her daughter’s residence in Ocean Springs at 2 pm. The family wishes to thank the Southern Care Hospice staff for their loving care. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to Southern Care Hospice, 12100 Hwy 49, Bldg. 708, Gulfport, MS 39503. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs is in charge of arrangements.
