Joshua Lee Anderson Sr.

Joshua Lee Anderson Sr., 35 of Vancleave, MS passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023 in Vancleave, MS.

He was born on April 25, 1988 in Pascagoula, MS to Ronald E. Anderson Sr. and Cyndi Kell Anderson. He graduated from St. Martin High School. He was employed at Trident and was a volunteer Fire Fighter. He loved spending time with his children, watching football, riding horses, roping, team pinning, and listening to the police scanner.

Josh lit up a room no matter what challenges he faced; he would help others first. He would put on a brave face and conquer any challenge. Josh’s favorite quote was “Love, peace, and chicken grease.” Finally, there was a battle he could not win. You will never be more than eighteen inches away from us; that’s the distance between our hearts to our minds. You will be forever loved and missed.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Joyce Kell and Don and Chris Anderson; brother, Ronald “R.J.” E. Anderson Jr.; and pet, Rhea Lee Anderson.

Josh is survived by his wife, Alley Rebekah Anderson; parents, Ronald and Cyndi Anderson; sons, Joshua Lee Anderson Jr., and Aidan Patrick Anderson; daughter, Gracie Ann Anderson; stepsons, Hunter Gage Lyles and Trenton Joseph Saucer; siblings, Jonathan M. (Alyssa) Anderson and Tonya J. (Austin) Fleming; aunts and uncles, Robert “Buck” G. (Anita) Kell Jr., Steve E. (Genny) Kell, and Gwen (David) George; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Vancleave, MS. Friends may visit from 11:00am until 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Vancleave #1 Cemetery.
