Joyce Mae McCabe Rider Stuart

Mrs. Joyce Stuart, age 84, a resident of Biloxi, MS passed away peacefully in her home on April 3, 2013. Mrs. Stuart was married to Ben Allen Stuart for 39 years. She has been a resident of Biloxi most of her life and was a member of Nativity BVM Cathedral Parish. She attended Sacred Heart Academy and graduated in 1946. Mrs. Stuart is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvah Phillip McCabe; her first husband, James F. Rider; her step-daughter, Lisa Stuart Hopkins; her grandson, Justin Scott Jumonville; her great-granddaughter, Madison Rebecca Ann Chatagnier; and her sons-in-law, Joe Allen and Thomas Pritchard. She is survived by her children, Maureen Pritchard, Linda (Buddy) Jumonville, Diane Allen and Jimmy (Sarah) Rider; her step-children, Deborah (Mike) Stewart, Beverly (Joe) Pauley, John Stuart and Susan Chatagnier; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, Fatima Retired Priest Home Fund or one’s favorite charity. Pall bearers are her 7 grandsons, Josh Jumonville, Joseph Allen, James Allen, Jason Rider, Brian Chatagnier, Derek Chatagnier, and Chad Hopkins. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 with an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Nativity BVM Cathedral. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
