Joye McNally

Joye McNally, age 81, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in Biloxi.

Joye was born on September 10, 1940, in McHenry, MS. She was a graduate of Perkinston High School in Perkinston, MS, and earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. She spent many years working for the United States Air Force and United States Navy through the Civil Service Administration. She retired in 2002 as a GS13 in Personnel Classification at Keesler Air Force Base.

Joye was an active and longtime member of First Baptist Church of Biloxi, involved in her Sunday School class, women’s Bible study groups, and Church outreach programs. Prior to First Baptist Biloxi, she was a member at Temple Baptist Church, Biloxi and First Baptist Church of Windsor Park in Ocean Springs where she played the piano for all services for over 25 years.

Joye married Lawrence Eugene “Gene” McNally, and they had two sons and four grandsons. She was a devout Christian with a commitment to family and a strong work ethic. She loved her grandchildren dearly, and had many lifelong friends she interacted with daily here on the coast.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter “Buck” Overstreet and Lafern Parker Overstreet; and her husband, Lawrence Eugene “Gene” McNally.

Survivors include her sons, Jim McNally (Kristen) of Chelmsford, MA and Scott McNally (Stephanie) of Ocean Springs; and four grandsons, Jackson McNally, Evan McNally, Grant McNally, and Cole McNally.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home on Porter Avenue in Ocean Springs.  A graveside service will be held at 9:00 am on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS. There will be a reception for family and friends at First Baptist Church, Biloxi immediately following the graveside service.
