Judith Beavers Harper, passed away peacefully in Mandeville, Louisiana, November 20, 2015 at the age of 71. A Native of Gulfport, MS, displaced by Katrina, Judith lived in Mandeville the last five years. She graduated from Gulfport High in 1962 and earned a BFA from Memphis State University in 1967. A Gentle woman of fine intellect, she earned an MBA at USM, Hattiesburg in 1981, Master of Art Education at USA, Mobile in 1994 and Master of Fine Arts at Ole Miss in 1997.
Judith served in the Peace Corps in Tonga, South Pacific 1974- 1976 and has been an artist, teacher and student throughout her life. Most recently she studied and practiced Asian healing arts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John W. and Neva B. Harper. Judith was a kind and caring friend who will be missed by those whose lives she touched.
