Judith Garrett McWaters

Judith Garrett McWaters, 83, of Gulfport, MS passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023. Judith was born July 16, 1940 in Kansas City, MO.

Judith attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Kansas City, MO where she received her nursing degree. She dedicated 30 years to nursing before retiring. Over the years, she worked at the American Red Cross, Gulfport Memorial Hospital, and Garden Park Hospital. Judith was a member of the Altar Society of St. John Catholic Church and in her free time, she enjoyed going on family vacations and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Marion R. and Edna E. Garrett; husband, John A. McWaters; and sibling, James Garrett.

Survivors include her children, Lisa (Rick) Easterling, Michelle (Jon) Carr, and Paul (Amanda) McWaters; 8 grandchildren, Richard Easterling, Joshua Easterling, Charles Easterling, Sky McWaters, Xandria McWaters, Garrett Carr, Chandler Carr, and Chloe McWaters; and 2 great- grandchildren, Edna McWaters and one on the way.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at St. John Catholic Church in Gulfport, MS. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior. Interment will be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Judith’s name to a charity of your choice. They would also like to thank Azalea Gardens Nursing Center and Paul and Amanda McWaters for their care and compassion in her last years.
