Judy Brucelyn Hamm Bird, 58, of Biloxi, MS went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 22, 2010. Judy was born August 23, 1952 and was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. Judy married the love of her life, Jimmy C. Bird, Sr. on February 20, 1970. In her lifetime Judy achieved many accomplishments. She was a member of the D'Iberville Community Club, serving as an officer in many capacities. She was elected as the 2nd female president in the club's history, serving more terms than any past president. She also served as the Mardi Gras Queen. She was a volunteer chairperson in this organization as well as many others. Judy and Jimmy were co-founders of the North Bay Area Mardi Gras Assoc., where she also served as Queen. She was a member of Lemoyne Baptist Church. Her greatest gift of all was her love for Christ, family and her willingness to serve others.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Ethelyn Hamm; brother, James Hamm and father-in-law, Paul Bird.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy, Sr.; son, Jimmy C. (Brandy) Bird, Jr.; aunt, Eula Noyes; sisters, Janet (Joseph) Greene, Rae (Russ) Hilton; brothers-in-law, Paul (Sherry) Bird, Ronald (Jeanette) Bird; sisters-in-law, Amelda (Blaine) Krohn, Margie Bird, Linda (Skip) Girton; grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and her precious puppy, Molly.
Our Judy is free of pain and suffering. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. We love you.
Visitation is Friday, November 26, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Funeral services are Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Both will be held at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, Biloxi. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery, Vancleave.
Per Judy's request her great-niece, Katelynn Perryman will sing for her.
Pallbearers are: Charles Wilson, Mike Bird, John Bird and Robert Thompson.
