Judy Holley Darnell, 50, of Gulfport went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 8, 2007 surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Darnell was born in Biloxi and had been a resident of the Coast most of her life. She was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle in D'Iberville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Darnell; father, Dolphie Lyman Holley; grandchild, Cheyanne Darnell; and grandmother, Myrtle Rayborn.
She is survived by a daughter, Brandy Fletcher and her husband, Larry of Saucier; a son, Christopher L. Darnell of Biloxi; her mother, Sylvia "Gerry" Willis and step-father Cecil "Papa" Willis, both of Gulfport; a sister, Diann Justice Smith and her husband, John of Long Beach; a brother, Clay Justice and his wife, Debbie of Gulfport; six grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, and Alexsis Darnell, Brandis, Ashton, and Dalton Fletcher; niece and nephew Julie and Jeremy Dimsdale; great-nephew, Lukas Nelson; and best friend, Miss Mattie Emmons.
Special thanks to the Emergency Room, ICU, and third floor staffs at Garden Park Medical Center and a very special thanks to Dr. Quinones and his staff for the kind, loving care that Judy received.
The family prefers memorials to one's favorite charity.
Judy's last unselfish act of love was donating her body to LSU Medical School for research with the hope to help others.
