Julia Faye Monroe, 91, of Gulfport, died Friday, May 5, 2006 in Gulfport. Mrs. Monroe was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and had been a resident of Gulfport for 57 years. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Monroe was preceded in death by her husband, Craig M. Monroe, Sr., her son, Craig M. Monroe, Jr., one sister and nine brothers. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara DeCelle and her husband, Ray, Faye Ledet, and Debbie Lang and her husband, Bubba and one son, Ken Monroe and his wife, Patty all of Gulfport, one sister, Winkie Hawkins of Tuscaloosa, AL, ten grandchildren, Michael Smith, Jeff Smith, Gina Strickland, Sybil Harrison, Leslie Harmon, Bryan Monroe, Norman Monroe and his wife, Dorie, Scott Monroe, Jeremy Monroe, Brandon Lenaz and his wife, Leona, and nine great grandchildren. There will be a funeral service 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 8, 2006 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road in Gulfport, where friends may visit two hours before service. Interment will be in Evergreen Gardens in Gulfport. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the following: Jimmy Lenaz, Nelda Camp, Dr. David LaRosa, Dr. Hansel Janet, Dr. Hugo Nievas, Memorial Hospital Hospice, and Nursing Management.
