Julie Ann Hixenbaugh was born in Pascagoula, MS on April 27, 1973. She was a resident of Ocean Springs most of her life. Julie passed away November 15, 2005 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport. Julie attended Ocean Springs High School and MGCCC. She was an avid reader and one of her desires was to become a writer. She loved children, animals, and spending time with friends. Julie loved to cook and was a great cook. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Mr. Wallace C. Beck Sr., and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Shirley Brown. Julie is survived by her father, James Hixenbaugh Jr., mother Cathy Hattaway, sister Jennifer Lynn Hixenbaugh, brother Patrick Ray Travis, grandmother Mrs. Bernice Beck, all of Ocean Springs, paternal grandfather Mr. William T. Brown of Vancleave, paternal grandparents James and Doris Hixenbaugh of Mission, TX, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Douglas Lanier, Dr. Joseph O'Gorman, Dr. Edwin Quinones, and the staff of South Mississippi Nephrology for the special care they gave to Julie. Also a special thanks to the nurses and staff of 5B at Memorial Hospital, Gulfport, and Dr. Kristin Vergunst of Ocean Springs. A memorial service for Julie will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2005 at the Ocean Springs Church of Christ on Washington Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabities Association, 16 N. 10th Drive, Suite 100, Jackson, MS 39211, and The National Kidney Foundation of Mississippi, P. O. Box 55802, Jackson, MS 39296.
