Mrs. Juliet Diaz Wheeler, 94, of Biloxi, MS, died Thursday, July 9, 2009, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Wheeler was a native and lifelong resident of Biloxi, She was a former Harrison County Mother of the Year, a charter member of the Biloxi Elks Auxiliary, member of Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Cathedral and a founding member of St. Louis Catholic Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Wheeler was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Wheeler, Sr.; grandson, Michael Marie; two brothers and six sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Donald, Sr.) Marie, and Judy (Sherman, Sr.) Broussard; two sons, Harry (Angie) Wheeler, Jr., and David (Candy) Wheeler; one sister, Myrtle Barhonovich; nine grandchildren, Donald (Marcia) Marie, Jr., Connie (Rick) Harlow, Sherman (Julann) Broussard, Jr., Lisa (Wayne) Lyons, Steven (Patrice) Broussard, Trey (Stacy) Wheeler, Danielle Wheeler, Drew Wheeler and Jeffrey Wheeler; six great-grand children; and special caregiver, Vera Ponder.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 13, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Cathedral where friends may visit from 9 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
