Mr. Julius Dolze Broussard, 73, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Friday, July 3, 2009, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Broussard was born July 3, 1936 at Point Cadet in Biloxi, MS and was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. He went to celebrate his birthday with his Maker on July 3, 2009, after a brave battle with cancer. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran and a retired boat captain. Julius was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church where he was very active until his health began to decline. He was also a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and St. Michael's Altar Boy Prayer Group. Always a champion of Father Quinn and the Saltillo Mexico Mission, Julius made 54 trips to the Mission.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Broussard Landry and Lessaint Broussard; his step-father, Alire Landry; sister, Ida Louviere; brothers, Paul Huey Spell, Henry Broussard and Maxie Broussard.
He is survived by the love of his life of 51 years, Judy Schultz Broussard; daughters, Julie (Ronald) Suarez, JoEtta (William) Burgamy; sons, Julius (Jessica) Broussard, Julian (Mary Beth) Broussard, and James Patrick (Rachel) Broussard; and nine grandchildren, Christian Suarez, Ethan Suarez, Brandon Zapata, Sarah Broussard, Gia Broussard, Jacob Broussard, Clayton Broussard, Joshua Broussard and Savannah Broussard.
The family would like to thank everyone for their help and prayers during our father's/husband's illness. We would also like thank Dr. Paul Pavlov and his nurse, Twy Kirkland, the nurses and staff of the second floor east wing of the Ocean Springs Hospital and Hospice of Light for the excellent care they provided our father. We would like to thank the employees of the Regional Cancer Center, and especially, Dr. Mathew Miceli and his nurse, Lynn, for the outstanding care and compassion they gave him and our family during his illnes.

Visitation is Monday, July 6, 2009, from 6 until 9 p.m., Rosary at 7:30 p.m., at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, in Biloxi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery.
