Julius Allen "Chief" McNemar

Julius Allen “Chief” McNemar, 81, of Gulfport, MS passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 in Gulfport.

Mr. McNemar was born on June 14, 1942 in Torrance, CA to Anna Mae Clarke McNemar Wiles and Leonard McNemar. He was a Vietnam Veteran and retired from the U.S. Navy as Master Chief after 20 years of service. Mr. McNemar was also employed with Ingalls Crew Training for 22 years. He was very proud of his military service and was even called “Chief” when he worked for Ingalls, training young sailors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Don McNemar, John McNemar, James McNemar, Dan McNemar, Glenn McNemar and Dorothy Adams.

Mr. McNemar’s survivors include his children, Judith (Nash) Bono, Donna Cameron, Susan (Preston) Salisbury, Robert (Sharon) McNemar and Danielle McNemar; his grandchildren, Ruth (Phil) Riddell, Eric (Amanda) Variz, Lisa (John) Dawson, Chris (Hanna) Salisbury, Thomas (Ariel) Salisbury, Kassie (Hayden) Gates, James Salisbury, Samantha Salisbury and Christopher McNemar; his great-grandchildren, Dylan Melancon, Freya Variz, Logan Dawson, Ava Salisbury, Oliver Salisbury and Scarlett Gates; and his siblings, Sheila Polcari and Kathy Pitts.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Claiborne Assisted Living Community for making our dad’s last few months happy ones.

Funeral Services will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Pass Road in Biloxi on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 12:30 pm. Friends may visit from 11:30 am until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
