June R. Cothern

June R. Cothern, 89, of Gulfport, died Thursday, December 8, 2005 in Gulfport. She was born June 16, 1916 in Blue Earth, Minnesota and had been a resident of Gulfport since 1951. She was Secretary in the Common Section, HQ Keesler Technical Training Center for over 21 years. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Gulfport. Mrs. Cothern and her family were charter members of Northwood Hills Presbyterian Church which is now the site of Bradford-O'Keefe on O'Neal Road. Mrs. Cothern was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Cothern; and her daughter, Kay Vivian (Mrs. Glen F.) Stewart. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Dayle (Mrs. J.C.) Gibson, of Long Beach, Linda June (Mrs. L. Clinton) Necaise of Biloxi; a son, William "Skip" (Gabriele) Cothern of Cypress, TX; 7 grandchildren, Dale Gibson, Wendy Gibson Besson, Stephen Stewart, Glenda Kay Stewart, Crystal Necaise Daley, Ty Necaise, and Mary Necaise Dougherty; 14 great-grandchildren, Tristan and Julian Gibson, Jeremy, Dustin, and Desiree' Beeson, Noah and Jonah Stewart, Alexandra, Ashleigh, and Abigail Daley, Ben and Lily Kate Necaise, Danielle and James Dougherty; 3 great-great grandchildren, Julia, Jarren, and Jenae Beeson. The funeral service will be Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Gardens in Gulfport. The family prefers memorials to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 5005 Lawson Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39507.
