Mrs. Junie "Granny" Robirds, 98, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Saturday, July 7, 2007, in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Robirds, a native of Harrisburg, AR, had been a resident of Ocean Springs for the past ten years. She was a faithful teacher and choir member at Lighthouse Baptist Church. She loved to quilt, sew and crochet and delighted in baking pies for her grandchildren.
Mrs. Robirds was preceded in death by her husband of 82 years, Jack Robirds; daughter, Lois Robirds; son, Leland Robirds; her parents, Arthur and Willie Dorris; two sisters, Nellie Taylor and Irene Burleson, and two brothers, Bill Dorris and Charlie Dorris.
Survivors include a daughter, Myrtle Watts and her husband, Wallace, of Biloxi; a son, Leman Robirds and his wife, Mary, of Manila, AR; six grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at 6 p.m. at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in D'Iberville where friends may visit one hour before service time. Mrs. Robirds will be sent to Langford Funeral Home in Jonesboro, AR. for graveside services and burial in Manila Cemetery in Manila, AR.
