Mrs. Junie “June” Louise Shoemaker Jarrett, 68, of North Biloxi, MS was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, January 24, 2008, in Biloxi. Mrs. Jarrett was born on September 25, 1939 in Gulfport and was 1968 graduate of Biloxi High School. She was a member of the Fountain of Life Tabernacle Church in Gulfport and received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 1986 from the University of Southern Mississippi. She was greatly involved in her community, and often served as a volunteer at St. Martin Elementary, JCCAA Head Start and the Friends of the Library. Mrs. Jarrett was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Hiram Shoemaker, a brother, Phillip Shoemaker, and sister, Mirna Shoemaker, all of Biloxi. She leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Robert “Bob” Jarrett, of North Biloxi; two daughters, Roseanne Jarrett of North Biloxi and Dr. Thelma Roberson of Hattiesburg, MS; two sons, Milan Jarrett of North Biloxi and Timothy Jarrett of Saucier; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her beloved mother, Mrs. Josephine Shoemaker; brother, Wendell Shoemaker; sister, Gail Marr, of Hawkinsville, GA, and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation is Monday, January 28, 2008, from 5 until7 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avnue, in Biloxi. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Friends of the Library, St. Martin Public Library, 15004 Lemoyne Boulevard, Biloxi, MS 39532 (228-392-3250).
