Karen Grady Scarbrough, 53, of Biloxi, died Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Karen was a 1975 graduate of Sacred Heart Girls High School. She then graduated with her BSN from St. Louis University. She retired after twenty two years of service from Gulfport Memorial Hospital. She was the most loving, caring, and giving person the Lord put on Earth. She had a strong love for God and a deep passion for music. Her son, Daniel was the apple of her eye and she always enjoyed helping him through school and listening to him play the bagpipes. She also enjoyed making jewelry, scrapbooking, knitting, and spending time with her nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ruby Grady; her sister, Timmie Fountain, and brother-in-law, Jim Comer. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Charles Scarbrough; her son, Daniel Scarbrough; two sisters, Deanna Comer and Debbie (Gene) Mowrey; and a host of nieces and nephews including Tamelia (Milton) Schoendorf, Lorene (J.D.) Lyons, Gregory (Jason) Fountain, Jimmy (Cheryl) Comer, Lisa (Donnie) Premeaux, Steven Mowrey, Jeffrey (Megan) Mowrey, Amber Schoendorf, Megan (Jimmy) Ladner, Chris (Kalie) Gollott, Jonathan and Lacey Fountain, Ryan and Jeremy Lyons, Aiden Mowrey, Payton and Caden Gollott, Aiden Mowrey, and Jayden Fountain. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Woolmarket with Father Dominick Fullam officiating. Interment will follow in D’Iberville Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2010 from the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 911 Porter Ocean Springs. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all have visited and kept her in your prayers and also to the loving and compassionate staff of Odyssey and Memorial Hospice.
