Katherine Shavers

Katherine "Katie" Marie Shavers, 24, was called to heaven March 6, 2011 at Singing River Hospital after her 8 year battle with cancer. Katie was a strong, loving caring young woman who was a mother, sister, daughter, and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; Clifford and Judy Johnson; paternal grandfather Henry Shavers and Uncle Tim Shavers. She is survived by her daughter, Julianne and a son Brayden; her parents, Steve and Kathy Shavers; brothers; David (Amber Dubuisson) Shavers; and Kristopher (Samantha) Shavers both of Long Beach, her grandmother; Shirley Shavers, uncles; Ron (Suzanne) Johnson of Long Beach, Gene (Shannon) Johnson of Knoxville, TN.; Dale (Tammy) Johnson of Hammond, IN.; Allen( Robin) Shavers of Russellville, AR.; Bryan (Denise) Shavers of Saucier, Mike (Christine) Shavers of Hancock County, aunts; Vonnie (Paul) Lord; Cynthia (Melvin) Hickman of Saucier ; nephews,Chandler, Landon, Christian and Kendall and numerous loving cousins and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Brian Persing and Staff at Southern Cancer Center. Services will be Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Long Beach, where friends may visit from 10:00 AM till service time at 11:00 AM.
