Keith Alden Lanford Jr.

Keith Alden Lanford Jr.,  “Chicko” age 37, of  Cedar Falls, Iowa, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024.

Keith was born on July 31,1986, to  Keith Lanford Sr. and Anna Marie Briseno.  He attended  Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College as a Welder/Fabricator.  Keith grew up riding his bike in the streets of Beaumont, Texas. From there, he traveled across the states with his mother and father, learning new trades and experiencing different ways of life. His favorite city was Seattle. He dreamed about one day walking through the fish market with his family, like he had done with his own father. Keith spent a majority of his life on the Mississippi Coast, where he had come of age, learned to weld, and where he met Janey, with whom he fathered four children. He enjoyed watching football with his sons, the Longhorns and the Cowboys, being his favorite teams. He loved to spoil his girls every chance he could. Keith valued the time he spent with his family and friends and liked to entertain. He liked to play his  guitar and play pool. Keith believed that laughter was the best medicine. He always had the right words to say for whoever needed to hear them. Like a lion, he lived without fear and without limits.

 Keith was preceded in death by his father, Keith Lanford Sr., grandparents, Chester and Helen Lanford, Aurlia "Wallie" Briseno and Manuel Martinez and Charlie and Pat Hubbard. 

 Survivors include his mother,  Anna Marie Briseno, stepfather, David Hubbard, fiancé, Janey Weaver, children, Bayliegh-Ana Lanford, Zeth Lanford, Riley Lanford, Christian Lanford, siblings, Kaitlyn Taylor (spouse, Dillon Taylor), Dalton Hubbard, Daniel Hubbard, nephews, Daxton Taylor, JJ Alden Taylor, Charlie Weaver, godparents, John Rey Gonzalez and Cindy Gonzalez,  and several aunts and uncles, cousins, great-aunts and uncles, family and friends.  

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 26, 2024, from 2pm until 3pm, with a 3pm Memorial Service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home.

 On behalf of Keith's family, we would like to thank the family and friends who have reached out to offer help, love and support for Janey, Bayliegh-ana, Zeth, Riley and Christian. Your acts of kindness are not unnoticed and are very much appreciated.
