Kenneth Irwin Stockstill

February 6, 1941 — December 17, 2024

Gulfport

Kenneth Irwin Stockstill, age 83, left this earth to join the angels on the morning of December 17, 2024. He passed peacefully, listening to his favorite classical music and surrounded by his loved ones.

Kenneth was brought into this world on Thursday, February 6th, 1941. He attended Picayune High School where he was an avid sportsman. He was a graduate of the Commonwealth College of Sciences, where he gained a degree and a love of Mortuary Science.

Kenneth began his career as a Mortician and Funeral Director at the Memphis Funeral Home, where he had the honor of embalming the late and great “Elvis Presley”. He later worked for the McDonald Funeral Home. He finally retired from Riemann Funeral Home after a lifelong endeavor of bringing peace to those who had lost dear loved ones.

Kenneth proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry, as a Medical Corpsman in Korea. After being honorably discharged in Hawaii, he found a passion for Freemasonry. Through the Freemasons, he became a 3rd degree Master Mason, 32nd degree Scottish Rite, 32nd degree York Rite, and a Noble of the Mystic Shrine.

From an early age Kenneth showed a deep love of music, having a natural ability to sing and play various instruments. Of his many passions, Kenneth was most active as a musician, singer, woodcarver, as well as a cigar and pipe enthusiast.

Kenneth cannot be replaced and will be dearly missed, though his memory will live on with his friends and family.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Warren W. Mills; mother, Kate Stockstill; beloved son, Brian Kenneth Stockstill; and his special pets, Lucy and Monkey.

Kenneth leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years, Sharon Warfield Stockstill; children, Walt L. McFadden (Charlene), Brent P. Stockstill, Timothy D. Stockstill, Christopher Fitch (Linda), and Jon Paul Fitch (Miranda); grandchildren, Alex K. Smith, Thomas P. Brown (Harley/Haley), Chloe A. Fitch, Layla A. Fitch, Adam C. Fitch, and Vivienne E.
