Kenneth Louis Lyons

Kenneth Louis Lyons, 87, of Ocean Springs, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023.

 

Ken was born in Gulfport, MS and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education and a Master of Secondary Education.  Ken was a football Coach and teacher for over 35 years at high schools along the MS Gulf Coast and Louisiana retiring in 1996.  Ken was proud of his achievements including being part of a staff that won three state championships while at Riverside Academy located in Reserve, Louisiana from 1984 -1986.  

 

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mamie Lyons; and his brothers, Louis Lyons and Gerald "Jerry" Lyons.  

 

He is survived by his former wife, Brenda Lyons; their four sons, David Lyons, Brent (Melissa) Lyons, Jeffrey Lyons, and Michael (Arina) Lyons; and ten grandchildren, Avery Lyons, Melanie Lyons, Conner Lyons, Kaya Lyons, Brianna Lyons, Carissa Lyons, Erin Lyons, Effie Lyons, Owen Lyons, and Kevin Lyons.  

 

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the Ocean Springs Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home.  Friends are invited to visit at 10 am.
