Kenneth Martin Dellenger, Sr.

Mr. Kenneth M. Dellenger, Sr., 79, of D'Iberville, MS, died Thursday, July 9, 2009, in Gulfport. Mr. Dellenger was born in Biloxi and remained a lifelong resident of the coast. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of Biloxi Elks Lodge #606 and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He was also a member of the semi-pro Galloping Gales Football Team of Biloxi. He was very active in social activities and the local community. He volunteered calling bingo on Monday and Thursday at Our Lady of Fatima and ran the Friday night bingo games at the Biloxi Elks Lodge. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Dellenger was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Wyndham Dellenger; parents, Phillip Peter Dellenger, Sr. and Noreta Pablo Dellenger; sister, Noreta Besst; and brother, Phillip Paul Dellenger, Sr. He is survived by his daughter, Sheila Dellenger and her longtime companion, Cyndi Cornett of California; son, Kenneth Dellenger, Jr and his wife, Kathy; companion, Margaret Miller, all of Biloxi; brothers, Stanley Dellenger of Biloxi and Leonard Dellenger of Texas; two grandchildren, Olivia Fayard and her husband, Julian, III, and Kenny Dellenger, III and his wife, Amber; and three great-grandchildren, Julian, IV and Ashlyn Fayard, and Raegan Dellenger. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where friends may visit from 9 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
