Lanny Baxter Bradford

Lanny Baxter Bradford, age 57, of Long Beach, died Saturday, September 16, 2006 in Gulfport. Mr. Bradford was born in Jackson, MS and was a resident of Gulfport for over 25 years and recently moved to Long Beach. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Gulfport. Mr. Bradford was a custom home builder and owner of Bradford Homes of Gulfport and Diamondhead and a member of the Homebuilders Association. He was a charter member of the Diamondhead Rotary Club. He played baseball for Ole Miss prior to graduating from Auburn University, Class of 71. He was a member of the Auburn Alumni Association, and a charter member of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Auburn Club. He had served on the Thesis Review Board of Auburn University Building Science Department. Mr. Bradford was preceded in death by his father, Herman Levee Bradford. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Bailey Bradford of Long Beach; two daughters, Lisa Katherine Bradford Capell and her husband, John of Montgomery, AL and Andrea Renee Bradford of Baton Rouge, LA; and his mother, Mildred Bradford of Long Beach. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and following Auburn through academics and sports, but more importantly, he loved and treasured his precious wife and daughters. The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 21, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until the service. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport. The family prefers memorials to the Baptist Children's Village, P. O. Box 27, Clinton, MS 39060 or to one's favorite charity.
