MSgt. (Ret.) Larry L. Barnes, 65, went to be with our Lord on May 20, 2014.
Mr. Barnes was born in Mt. Holly, NJ and was raised and attended school in Jackson, MS. During his military career, Mr. Barnes served as a Master Instructor in Communications at Sheppard A.F.B. in Texas. He was a Vietnam Veteran, and having a Top Secret Clearance, he served at numerous bases throughout the Pacific in the communications field. Mr. Barnes retired from military service as MSgt at Keesler A.F.B. He was a Life Member of VFW Post 5699.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Aaron L. and Rose Springer Barnes of Jackson, MS.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Linda Barnes; his sons, Joseph A. Barnes (Linda) of Mobile, AL and Michael L. Barnes (Heather) of Daphne, AL; his beloved grandchildren, Ella Barnes and Owen Barnes of Daphne, AL; his brothers, Jimmy C. Barnes of Vancleave, MS and Joe S. Barnes (Brenda) of Jackson, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to the U.S.O. or to the charity of their choice.
A Graveside Service with full Military Honors will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 12:30 pm. Officiating will be Mr. Barnes’ nephew, Rev. Raleigh Sadler of New York, N.Y.
The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
