Larry Wesley Blakeney

Larry Wesley Blakeney, age 65, a lifelong resident of Long Beach, MS, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Tuesday, August 29^, 2023 in his new home overlooking the Mississippi Sound.

Larry was born July 7, 1958, in Gulfport, MS to Urel Wesley and Peggy Joyce Blakeney, who have preceded him in death along with twin sisters, Annett Pavolini and Jannett Easterling. 

He is survived by his sister, Linda Joyce Blakeney, and a niece, Debbie Denison. 

Larry graduated from the University of Southern Miss in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and spent most of his career developing and maintaining the Harrison County GIS Mapping system. Larry was a tinkering artist and hobbyist, but is best known for his abilities in a kitchen, where he experimented combining ingredients and flavors with disregard to serving sizes which provided everyone with leftovers.

Visitation for Larry will be held on Tuesday, September 5^, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a memorial service immediately following at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, 1726 15^th street, Gulfport.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to an animal advocacy group (i.e., Humane Society of South MS, 2615 25th Ave, Gulfport, MS 39501) or perform a random act of kindness to others.
