Larry James Gollott, II

Larry James Gollott, II, age 45, of Biloxi, MS, beloved husband, father, son, great-grandson, brother and uncle, left this world February 3, 2008 to be with God and his heavenly family. Larry was a successful seafood entrepenuer, owner of Gollott Brothers Seafood who aspired to bring new products and ideas to the shrimp industry. He was well respected near and far among the seafood community. He was the "killer19firstclass"- his favorite sayings all in one. Larry was an avid hunter who hunted all over the world with his prize trophies as a testament to the sport. He would not hesitate to tell you he shot his war bird with his swarovski scope to kill his top 4 world record non-typical white tail. He recently returned from a Thanksgiving hunting adventure with his dad, daughters and brother. He leaves behind his two daughters who were the light of his life. He bragged endlessly of their accomplishments. He proudly looked forward to attending each and every sporting event his daughters participated in and so looked forward to the upcoming St. Patrick's high school fastpitch season in which one daughter is coaching and one daughter is playing. He also leaves behind his son, Tony Mattina. He was proud of Tony's hockey accomplishments and the handling of his shrimp plant. When not hunting, he and his wife would be trying out all the newest restaurants in town while cruising the coast in their topless jeep. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James George and Shirley Marie Gollott and Intha Cox. He is survived by his wife, who was his lover, best friend and partner, Joni; his daughter, Jaimie Marie (his "weewee girl"); his daughter, Tristan Lauren (his "chigs"); his parents, Larry and Carolyn Gollott, Sr.; his brother, Kevin (Chantal) Gollott; his great-grandparents, John and Betty Cox; his Aunt and Godmother, Nancy (Mike) Killingsworth and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his three dogs, Inga, Gucci and Buddy and his bird, Coco, who he called his "good people". In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to be sent to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Atten: Memorial/Honor Program FH, One St. Jude Place Building, Memphis, TN, 38148-0552. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 11:00 am at St. Michael's Catholic Church where friends may call one hour prior to service time.
