Larry Rutland

Larry Rutland, 60, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Lena Rutland of Lyman. He is survived by his daughter, Kaycee Rutland of Nashville, TN; his sister, Renee (Eddie) Ladner, and nieces Allison (Marcus) Odom of Gulfport, Jennifer (Andrew) Nowlin of Oxford, MS, as well as his great nieces McKenna, London, and Scarlet Odom of Gulfport. Larry leaves behind a large extended family and countless friends. Larry was a talented musician, a champion horseback rider/trainer, a master of martial arts and a skilled jeweler. He owned and operated his own jewelry store in Lyman for 20 years. Larry was characterized by his compassionate heart and generous nature. Never meeting a stranger, his legacy will live on in the hearts of the many lives he touched. He was a loving father, loyal brother, caring uncle and dear friend. He will be remembered by his animated personality and loving spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The First Baptist Church of Lyman in honor and memory of Mr. Larry Rutland, 14321 Old Highway 49 Gulfport, MS, 39503. The funeral service is Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe O’Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 9:30 a.m. until service time.
