LaRue Elizabeth Eldringhoff, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at home surrounded by family, as was her wish. A resident of Ocean Springs for 50 years, she was born in Jefferson City, MO on July 27, 1930, to Walter and Rose Ottman. She attended St. Louis University where she received her Registered Nurse degree. LaRue worked as a nurse for much of her adult life, first as a pediatric nurse, school nurse and finished her career as a highly regarded and sought-after home health nurse. She retired from SAAD’s home health in 1995. She married the love her life Thomas Conrad Eldringhoff on November 14, 1959 and celebrated 61 years of marriage in 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Walter Ottman; and nephew, Walter “Bubba” Ottman. She is survived by her husband, Tom; three children, Thomas Walter Eldringhoff (Crystal), Kathryn Ann O’Sullivan (Kevin), and Andrew Joseph Eldringhoff (Catherine); grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Barber (Peyton), Rebecca Ann Eldringhoff, Mallory Rose O’Sullivan (Brandon Woolsey), Cormac Thomas O’Sullivan, Kathleen Theresa O’Sullivan, Caroline Rose Eldringhoff, Thomas Andrew Augustus Eldringhoff, Henry James Eldringhoff; great-grandchildren, Theodore Quinn Barber and Wesley Hayes Barber; many loving nieces and nephews. A lifelong Catholic, LaRue was parishioner at St. Alphonsus and St. Elizabeth Seton churches. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who never failed to have a twinkle in her eye telling you she was up to something fun that she hoped would spark laughter and joy among those she loved. After retirement, LaRue and her husband spent 15 years as dedicated volunteers for at the St. Vincent de Paul Pharmacy in Biloxi. The family would like to thank the devoted staff of Notre Dame Hospice for the peace they brought to LaRue and her family throughout her last days, in particular LaRue’s nurse Christine Wallace, her aid Tammy, and all the staff the family welcomed into their home. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until Mass time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue in Biloxi, is honored to serve the family of LaRue Eldringhoff.
