Laura M. Seagren, 85, of Kiln, MS, formally of South Stockton, NY, died peacefully in her home, August 9, 2006. She was born April 24, 1921, in East Otto, NY, the daughter of the late May Gertrud Flagg. She was a graduate of Salamanca, NY school system. She was employed at the Salamanca Hospital for seven years prior to her marriage. After marriage, she was employed for many years by AMSCO of Jamestown, NY, a part of American Sterilizer, Erie PA. She attended South Stockton Wayside Chapel serving as both a Sunday School Teacher for many years and also as president of their Missionary Society. She also served as president of the Sinclairville Garden Society. She loved children, gardening, sewing and Collie dogs. She is survived by one son, Wayne K. Seagren, and her beloved daughter-in-law, Janice Seagren of Kiln, MS; three grandchildren, Brian Seagren of the Kiln, Matthew W. Seagren, of Edinboro PA, and Melissa Bertran of Ocean Springs, MS; two great-grandsons; and one sister, Tillie Sites, of Fremont, CA. Beside her parent, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Carl Kermit Seagren, whom she married June 16, 1946 in Salamanca, NY. The funeral service will be held Friday, August 11, 2006 at 1:15 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport, where friends may call from 12:15 p.m. until the service.
