Laura May Mathieu

Laura May Mathieu, 71, of Ocean Springs, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2009. Mrs. Mathieu was a Salutorian of Vancleave High School in 1956. She worked in the Bellehaven Baptist Church nursery for 29 years and was a wonderful homemaker who loved children. Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Ella Wilson, brother, Millard Wilson, Jr. and sister, Doris Carter. Survivors include her husband of fifty two years, Casmer Mathieu; three daughters, Rita Sue (Alan)Prine of Waco, TX, Nancy Mathieu of Ocean Springs and Janice Martin of Vancleave; a son, Edgar Lee Mathieu of Vancleave; sisters, Opal Holliman of Latimer, Cammie Carroll of Ocean Springs, Ethel Thomas of Biloxi, Patsy Garvey of Ocean Springs, Betty Sue Griffin of Vancleave and Rosemary Resch of Ocean Springs; brothers, Ira Wilson of Mobile, AL, Ronnie Wilson and Earl Wilson, both of Brooklyn, MS along with eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2009 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 20, 2009 in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial to follow at Bellande Cemetery.
