On April 15, 2005 God called home a dear child of His, and a dear loved one of ours, LaVerne Colan Loeffler.
Understanding that God needed you more than we do, we lovingly release you into the care of our Savior where you will have no more suffering and no more pain.
Born in Kansas and living around the world as a young child, LaVerne settled in Gulfport where she lived most of her life. She will be remembered for the love she had for God and for her family. She centered her life around the love of her daughter, grandchildren, great grandchildren and inlaws. Up until the end, she loved being in and a part of family functions. She was a very quiet person, yet the love was all abound as she was in the presence of her family. She married at a young age to the love of her life, "Potsy", who passed on 16 years ago. She loved him until the end.
One child came of the marriage, Sherri Smith, who gave her eight grandchildren: Tammi, Danny, Brandie, Laura, Nick, Britt, Josh and little Mikah, who in turn gave her eight great grandchildren to love and enjoy. She remembered each and every one of these children until the end. The husbands and wives of all were as important to her as the rest: Alan, Frank, Teresa, Alton, D. C., Casey, Amelia and Meghan.
We want to say a special "Thank you, Mother", for the love and joy you gave us all. We also want you to know that
you will be greatly missed; but understanding that the pain you suffered here will no longer be as you are at peace now and in the arms of Jesus. We understand the happiness you have now is that of which you have never known. We thank God that He gave us this time with you. We will all be there with you one day and have a great family reunion. We all love you and we will miss you
Services will be Sunday, April 17, 2005, at 3 p m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home Chapel on O'Neal Road in Orange Grove with visitation two hours before service time.
