Lee “Joe” Fayard, 80 of Woolmarket, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 surrounded by loving family. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, faith, family, and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him as he and mom watch reside with the Lord. He was born on June 14, 1944 in Gulfport, MS to Virginia Plummer and Lee Fayard Sr. He graduated from Harrison Central Highschool in 1962. He was a proud army veteran serving in Vietnam before becoming a pipefitter and retiring from Ingalls Shipbuilding. He found joy in growing vegetables to give away to anyone driving by. He and his loving wife often contributed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and local charities, and always had an open refrigerator policy.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Virginia Fayard; wife of forty-eight years, Linda Fayard; and brother, Julian Fayard.
He is survived by his children, Joey Fayard of Biloxi, MS and Stacy Stevenson and son-in-law, Mark Stevenson of Spanish Fort, AL; grandchildren, Zoe Stevenson, Keil Stevenson, and Merrick Stevenson of Spanish Fort, AL; brother, Fred Fayard of Biloxi, MS; sister, Nancy Willis and brother-in-law, Mike Willis of Biloxi, MS.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue, Biloxi, MS. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior. Military funeral honors will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
