Lela Champagne Blanchard, 84, of Ocean Springs, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Blanchard was born in Biloxi and was a past member of The French Club, Jolly Travelers Club and the Salvation Army Women’s League. She was a homemaker and a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in D’Iberville.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Milton Blanchard, Sr.; her parents, Earlise and Lela Champagne; her sons, Milton Blanchard, Jr. and Bryan Blanchard; her sisters, Laura Gonzales and Jenny Byrd; and her brothers, Louis Champagne, Gordon Champagne and Earlise Champagne.
Mrs. Blanchard’s survivors include her daughters, Charlotte (Jack) Kaasa of Port Orchard, WA, Beatrice (Leverne) Moses of Woolmarket, Belinda (Ron) Tubbs of Vancleave, and Lela (Michael) Cuevas of Ocean Springs; her sons, Daniel Blanchard of Gulfport and Dale (Nita) Blanchard of Cairo, GA; her brother, Jake Champagne of St. Martin; 20 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am with an 11:00 am service all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Swetman Cemetery.
