Mrs. Leona Boudoin "Pushut" Broussard, 90, of Biloxi, MS, died Friday, September 7, 2007, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Broussard was born in Abbeville, LA to Charles and Alida Boudoin on January 3, 1917. She moved to Biloxi at the age of 14 and remained a lifelong resident. Mrs. Broussard worked many years in the seafood industry and later worked in the Biloxi School System as a cook and retired as a custodian. She was a member of St. Michaels Alter Society, Fleur De Lis Ladies Auxiliary and the Jolley Travelers.
Mrs. Broussard was preceded in death by her husband, Otis "Peanut" Broussard. Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Broussard Parker and her husband, Jack, of San Antonio, Texas; her son, Sherman J. Broussard, Sr. and his wife, Judy, of Biloxi; four sisters, Lucille LeBlanc, Cecile Richard, Mable Meaux and Matile Choate, all of Abbeville, LA; six grandchildren, Lisa Lyons, Sherman Broussard, Jr., Steven Broussard, JoLynn Mims, Sandy Montalvo and J. J. Parker; and twelve great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at 11 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Biloxi where friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery.
The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
