Leona Cureau Graffagnini, 96, of New Orleans, LA died Tuesday, March 22, 2005 in the home of her niece in Ocean Springs, MS. She was born on November 8, 1908 in New Orleans, LA and lived with her niece for the past 17 years. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert Anthony Cureau and Mary Ford Cureau, her husband, Vincent Graffagnini, her brother-in-law, Raymond Vivien LaBarre, 9 sisters, Cleo Cureau LaBarre, Inez Lussan, Esther LaFranca, Pearl Votier, Ruth Tobey, Irma Cureau, Yvonne Cureau, Norma Cureau, and Mary Cureau, 2 brothers, Delmar and Ray Cureau.
She is survived by her nephew-in-law and niece, Morris and Rae LaBarre Sonnier and their son, Joshua of Ocean Springs, MS and very dear friends, Mrs. Frances Prendergast of New Orleans, LA and Mrs. Virginia Tramonte of Biloxi, MS. Although she and her husband never had children of their own, they helped raise her brother, sister and niece.
The family thanks Trinity Hospice for their excellent care and personal caring through her long illness.
Mrs. Graffagnini will be cremated by Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Ave., Biloxi, MS.
