Mr. Leonard Jack Delahaussaye, age 80, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
Mr. Delahaussaye was born on March 8, 1944 in Biloxi, MS. He volunteered at the age of 17 to enlist in the U.S. Army where he was a paratrooper. He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with Valor and many other distinguished awards and achievements. He worked as a welder for most of his life and retired as supervisor for CED at the Navy Base in Gulfport, MS. During his spare-time, he enjoyed golf, serving the Lord, reading the Bible, and camping and vacationing with his wife and family.
Mr. Delahaussaye is preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice Fountain Hubbard and Herb Hubbard; his father, Ellis Jack Delahoussaye; and by his siblings, Claudett, James and Vernan. Left to cherish his memory include, his loving wife of 58 years, Catherine Marie Delahaussaye; daughter, Tammy Murray (Mack); granddaughter, Brandy Hebert (Glenn); great grandchildren, Colton and Carleigh Murry; siblings, Selma Simmons and Jerry Delahoussaye; and his fur-baby, Smokey.
Mr. Delahaussaye will be remembered by his family as a loving father and pawpaw; and for being a courageous fighter in war, through illness and through life. He will be deeply missed.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue in Biloxi. Friends may visit one hour prior. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
