Leonora A. Pitalo

Mrs. Leonora A. Pitalo, 96, of Gulfport, died Friday, March 11, 2005, in Gulfport. Mrs. Pitalo was born in Bunkie, LA and had been a resident of Gulfport since 1935. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Gulfport. She and her late husband, Nick Pitalo, Sr., owned and operated Pitalo's Grocery in Gulfport for many years. Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald J. Pitalo. Survivors include a son, Nick Pitalo, Jr.and his wife, Zell, of Gulfport; eight grandchildren, Tim Pitalo, Billy Pitalo, Wayne Pitalo, Theresa Ladner, Gloria Ballard, Donnie Pitalo, John Nick Pitalo and Patti Mollica; thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 14, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Gulfport where friends may visit one hour before the mass. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family prefers memorials to St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. John Catholic Church, 2414 17th St., Gulfport, MS 39501. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
