Levi Thomas Washington

d. June 23, 2022

Vancleave, MS

Levi Thomas Washington with his “Superman” cape went to be with Jesus on Thursday, June 23, 2022. He was surrounded by family and friends at his home in Vancleave, Mississippi. To know Levi was to love him at the first glance.  His blue eyes had a way of looking into your soul and keeping you forever.  Levi’s uniqueness was so much deeper than his biological makeup.  Our hero beat every odd ever put in front of him and taught lessons to all around him along the way to never underestimate the power of our God.  The light that shined in Levi’s eyes when he laughed or just when looking at you, made you feel like the only person in the room.  Levi could humble you with one glance. His brightness no doubt will continue to shine from above.

Levi was preceded in death by one of his biggest fans, his PawPaw, George T. Washington.  With no doubt in our hearts, they are together rejoicing with talking, laughter, running and playing.

Our angel is survived by his parents, Michael and Modesta Washington; brothers, Blaine Carroll and Jase Washington; his Grammy, Virginia Washington; his Papa, Leonard Fountain, Sr. and MeMe, Bonnie Fountain. Levi was loved by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family; Lisa (Eric) Comeaux, Tammy (Hugh) Cornell, Peggy (Chad) Pylate, and Leonard Jr. (Amy) Fountain.  Many cousins as well; Alis Comeaux, Justin Comeaux, Aidan Comeaux, Devin Posey, Carolyn Posey, Willow Posey, Deston Posey, Summer Posey, Drake Posey, Jadyn Pylate, Easton Pylate, Trenton Fountain, and Peyton Fountain.  Also survived and loved as though Levi was their own grandchild, Manley and Carolyn Washington.

Our family would like to express our special thanks and gratitude to all his teachers, therapists, caregivers, nurses, and doctors. The love that our family and friends showed our Levi will never be forgotten.  Special thanks to Amanda Cumbest, Levi’s daily nurse and Sabrina Ely for your unconditional love, support, and continuous care.  Our family has been truly blessed to have you both in our lives.

Hospice of Light, Ocean Springs…. there are no words that will ever be enough to show our appreciation to your whole team for the love, compassion, and care that ya’ll gave to our boy. Special thanks to: Crystal Murray, you are by far one of a kind and we will forever be grateful for the patience, understanding and love that you not only had for our Levi, but for Michael and I as well. Jessie Hodge, our hero.  I cannot express to you how I know that God sent you to our family for the purposes that you showed every day.  Levi loved his “aggravating” nurse and so do we.  Nicki Pascley, we welcomed you the moment you walked in our home and knew you would be family from then on out and were perfect for our Levi and us.  Stephanie Hauler, thank you for your continued sacrifice that included many late nights for me and you with our Levi.
