Libia "Libby" Martinez Brockhoeft, age 73, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, at her home in Gulfport, Mississippi, surrounded by her loving family. 

Libby was born on May 8, 1952, in Manhattan, New York. She spent her childhood in New Orleans, Louisiana, and later resided in 9 Mile Point, Louisiana, before retiring to Gulfport. 

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alfred F. Brockhoeft; her father, Efrain Martinez Sr.; her mother, Anne-Marie "Kitty" Guzman; her stepfathers, Jose Santiago and Ramon Guzman; and her sister, Amanda Martinez. 

Libby is survived by her cherished children: Adam (Rebecca) Martinez, Rachael (Anthony) Brockhoeft Burns, Rebecca Brockhoeft Larousse, and Deborah (Rob) Brockhoeft Norman. She was a proud grandmother to Christian Martinez and Michael Burch; Madyson Burns and Mason Burns; Brennan Larousse and Whitney Larousse; Alivia Graham, Alaina Graham, and Adelyn Graham; as well as step-grandchildren Rebecca Norman, Josee Torres, and Trey Norman. She also leaves behind one great-grandchild, Maverick Ayo. Libby is further survived by her brothers Efrain Martinez and German "Herman" Martinez, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her devoted four-legged companion, Valentino.

Libby was an avid crafter and reader, possessing many creative talents. She was a graduate of Redemptorist Catholic High School in New Orleans, LA and was retired from Social Security Administration's Office of Disability Adjudication and Review and had recently rejoined the workforce at GCP Laboratories.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home, 1726 15th Street, Gulfport. A rosary and funeral mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Gulfport. A reception will take place immediately after the mass at the church. Interment will be held at the National Cemetery in Biloxi at a later date. 

Libby’s warmth, laughter and love touched all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
