Mrs. Lila Etherton Mallette, 86, of Vancleave, MS, died Saturday, December 5, 2009, in Vancleave.
Mrs. Mallette was a native of Biloxi and a longtime resident of the Ft. Bayou Community. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Vancleave and the Ft. Bayou Home Demonstration Club for 50 years. She was an avid supporter of all her children's and grandchildren's sporting acitivities.
Mrs. Mallette was preceded in death by her husband, George W. "Scrap" Mallette; son, George Errol Mallette; and parents, Theodore and Esther Etherton. Survivors include five daughters, Glenda Inabinette, Carolyn (Kenneth) Newman, Darlene (Virgil) Barton, Marlene Ainsworth, and Tammy (Scott) Noble; three sons, Ronnie (Brenda) Mallette, Bobby (Debbie) Mallette, and Brian Mallette; brother, Gordon (Lillie) Etherton; sixteen grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church where friends may visit from 12 noon until service time. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery in Vancleave. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs is in charge of arrangements.
